Development Manager, Rochdale Canal
Salary: Circa £29,000
Manchester
Getting people involved in our inland rivers is what The Waterways Trust is all about. And nowhere is this more apparent than with the Rochdale canal. We helped restore this unique stretch of waterway after years of dereliction and misuse. Now we're looking for a talented professional to re-establish it as a community resource and catalyst for social and economic regeneration.
We'll look to you to deliver projects that encourage people to value, care for and use their local waterway. It's a key challenge that will involve building working partnerships with a range of local organisations. As well as developing proposals, you'll create and implement fundraising strategies. You'll also manage project budgets, get involved with the implementation of plans, and provide stakeholders with regular progress updates.
To succeed, you'll need experience of community-based project work and a proven track record in partnership working. You'll also be financially astute with the strategic ability to create effective fundraising plans. On top of that, you'll be a sound project manager with strong writing and presentation and communication skills.
